Gold and Silver Medal at Selezione del Sindaco 2011
At he International Oenologic Concours “Selection of the Mayor” 2011 that was held at the Palace to Caracciolo-Cito Torrecuso (BN) from 27 to 29 May 2011 we had great awards.
Of the 1113 wines entered, our Primitivo di Manduria CASA VECCHIA 2008 has been awarded by a gold medal with a score of 87.75. Silver medal instead for Primitivo di Manduria PIRRO VARONE 2008 with a score of 85.25.
“Selection of the Mayor” – the only international wine competition which involves the joint participation of the Company (which produces the wine) and the City (where the vineyards are located) – aims to enhance small batches of wine quality , the result of tradition and a well-defined territory, and to foster their knowledge through the Internet. Participation is limited to quality wines (DOCG, DOC, IGT), produced in small batches.
“Selection of the Mayor” is a traveling wine competition, which changes every year that is the seat of tasting sessions in order to leverage all areas of the city of wine. Since its first edition in 2002 was held in Siena, the show has traveled from northern to southern Italy involving Conegliano (2003), Alba (2004), Rome (2005), Ortona (2006), Monreale (2007 ), Cividale del Friuli (2008), San Michele Adige (2009), Brindisi (2010).
